Always interested in real estate, urban development, home improvements and lifestyle, Jacques received an award from the Canadian Housing Design Council for one of the three best residential renovations in Canada for 1980.  The project was the total renovation of a boarded-up 3 storey grey stone residence built in the downtown of Montreal in 1875 adjacent to today's Bell Centre.

After numerous personal buying and selling experiences, Jacques chosed to move from Montreal to Ottawa at the end of 1993.  Like many newcomers to the nation's capital, his expectations for a quality way of life were not disappointed.  He immediately directed his efforts to study towards the Ontario Real Estate Association licensing.
